About Us
Diverging Pathways is a unique allied health service set up to specifically meet the needs of clients with chronic and complex conditions
This includes those with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, progressive neurological disorders and chronic disability. Most of our clients are on the NDIS, or under Lifetime Care or Aged Care, but we do also see those outside of those schemes who cannot access the care they need elsewhere. This includes those with Parkinson’s, or those suited to our balance classes. We also welcome private clients to our pathways classes.
We are passionate about helping people to experience meaningful and productive lives, through our holistic, person-centred care, and we provide a range of innovative, evidence based services to address each individual’s needs.
The name Diverging Pathways has multiple meanings:
A diverging pathway refers to a neural phenomenon, where one neurons’ impulse affects other neurons. We want to utilize current research and technology to optimize each person’s neurological system and help them achieve the best physical outcomes possible.
Diverging Pathways also takes its roots from the Robert Frost poem ‘The Road Not Taken’ which says: ‘Two roads diverged in a yellow wood…. and I, I took the road less travelled by, and that has made all the difference’. Many of those who come to see us are on a pathway they had not planned or imagined. We hope to be part of what makes the difference on that pathway. We also hope we can continue to open up new pathways for each individual to explore so that they are constantly challenged to live their best and most independent life!
